We have enjoyed a wide variety of genres this year. “The Four Winds” was particularly enjoyable, describing female resilience through the trials of the American Dust Bowl in the Great Depression. Our classic novel was Adam Bede, a lengthy but enjoyable read, portraying the social and moral history of rural life in the late 18th century. The autobiography of Lady Anne Glenconner – “Lady in Waiting” - gave us an insight into “how the other half lives”!
