The Walking Plus Group walked along the Thames to the Tate Modern to see El Anatsui's 'Behind the Red Moon'. A quote from their website says this 'is a monumental sculptural installation made of thousands of metal bottle tops and fragments. Crumpling, crushing, and stitching them into different compositions, large panels are pieced together to form massive abstract fields of colour, shape and line' More details on their website here.

Walking Plus - meets every third Thursday at a pre-arranged starting point at 10.30. In this group we will walk for anything between 5 and 7 miles during the day. It is a planned day out including coffee stops and a stop for lunch. We usually meet at Waterloo station and then go on from there. In the past we have visited all sorts of places of interest, museums, art galleries, famous houses and gardens etc. discovering many interesting things on our way. It is amazing how much more you see and discover when walking! We have also visited different National Trust houses and other places of interest that are within an hours drive from Runnymede. We all take turns in planning the walks and suggesting new places to visit.
Please note that this group is currently full, but you can add your name to the waiting list by contacting the Group Leader.
The group is restricted to approximately 10 members.
Please contact Caroline Thomas (group leader) for further information about the group.
Caroline can be contacted by email. by clicking on the ferocious pigeon at the top right of this page.
ALL WALKERS MUST NOTE THAT THEY WALK AT THEIR OWN RISK
